Former Treasury and Finance Minister Lutfi Elvan made a statement on CNN Turk's live broadcast :

AK Party member Lutfi Elvan made important statements about the economy to Dicle Canova on CNN Turk screens. Former Treasury and Finance Minister Lutfi Elvan used the following expressions in his statement. 

"Why do we say investment, production and employment? The indispensable condition for healthy growth is to increase investment and take technology to the next level. 

For this, a human-oriented approach is required. Increasing productivity is a must. One of the conditions is inclusiveness, inclusiveness of all segments of society, fair distribution of the wealth gained from growth to the society, and healthy and balanced growth.

Here is one of the indispensable conditions for investment, production, export, and healthy and balanced growth. We put forward a green and digital transformation-oriented approach in our declaration. Look at the sections on sectors, one of the main themes is green and digital transformation.

Let's come to our statement in the declaration. We stated there that we would update our macroeconomic framework program. IT IS MENTIONED THAT THE POSITIVE EFFECT OF BLACK SEA GAS WILL BE MENTIONED. HOW DO YOU FORESEE A PERSPECTIVE?

When we look at our import structure, 8-10 per cent of our imports are consumer goods imports. We have imports of investment goods varying in the 15-20 per cent band. Search imports in the 60-65 band. We import our oil and natural gas. There is a burden brought by imports.

Under the leadership of our Ministry of Industry and Technology, they worked on which intermediate goods we need, one by one, and revealed what kind of support mechanism should be formed.

The basic approach here is to create an infrastructure that will reduce our imports and production in Turkey. This is a structural problem. We have significant experience. The defence industry locality rate increased from 20 per cent to 80 per cent.

BLACK SEA NATURAL GAS HAS SMILE, WE ARE NOT GOING TOO MUCH WITH OIL, WHEN WILL I SEE THE EFFECT OF THIS ON THE CURRENT DEFICIT?

In fact, we have solved the structural current account deficit problem to a great extent and we are taking serious steps towards solving it. The natural gas we will extract will contribute to us. Is it enough? Of course, it's not enough. Our Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources will continue its exploration activities.

WHEN WILL INFLATION REACH THE SINGLE DIGITAL? HOW DOES INFLATION HAVE A ROADMAP?

I have to say something about inflation. We cannot isolate Turkey from the world, we need to see the developments in the world. What have we experienced in the last 5 years? Pandemic period, what happened after? All production and supply chains have been disrupted, what happened after that? There was a significant increase in food and commodity prices. There was an increase in inflation on a global scale.

Turkiye is an oil and natural gas importing country. regardless of the product you're looking at. You use oil and natural gas in every field from agriculture to industry in whichever production area you will go. The increase in prices and the fact that you are a natural gas and oil importer are reflected in the prices.

At the end of two years, the inflation rate dropped to a single-digit figure.

There was some decline in natural gas and oil. In addition, measures are taken against inflation. Our prediction is that inflation will decrease to single digits within a period of 2 years.

AK Party governments have experience in fighting inflation. We have demonstrated our ability to reduce inflation, we have a strong experienced staff.

WHAT STEPS WILL BE TAKEN TO THE EMPLOYEE SECTION?

The income of the wage earners will not only increase with inflation. We will add growth to inflation. We will also share the income we generate from growth with our citizens.

There are low-income groups. Rent and energy. We will take measures to reduce the rent and energy costs paid in high amounts in the expenditure composition for these two areas.

Social housing projects will be implemented intensively. There is a natural gas discovery in the Black Sea, which of course will have a positive impact on our citizens. We will have significantly lowered our prices.

WHAT WILL WE SEE IN THE COMING DAYS ABOUT THE REVITALIZATION OF THE EARTHQUAKE ZONE?

There is a comprehensive section in our election manifesto for disasters. We have laid out a framework down to the smallest detail of what to do before, during and after the disaster. What kind of infrastructure should we have in the worst-case scenario? All of these are included in our election manifesto.

We have 3 sections here. Measures to be taken for our earthquake zone and what to do. Secondly, there are steps to be taken towards Marmara, Istanbul. Third, what kind of measures to reduce the disaster risk will be implemented, these are included in our election manifesto.

The entire earthquake zone area, such as the construction of buildings from the plain to the slopes, has a park, school, mosque reconstruction and economic development dimension.

We are creating an economic infrastructure that will become a centre of attraction that will be much better than the location of these provinces before the earthquake.

An economic analysis of this region will be made with the participation of our development agencies and regional development administrations in the region. Here, a study was initiated to give priority to employment density, especially in areas with high unemployment rates, and to focus on products with high added value.

We will create an economic infrastructure that will make this region a centre of attraction, new incentive mechanisms will be in question. According to the characteristics of that region, we will focus on different areas such as gastronomy and thermal tourism due to fault lines, and we will create a strong economic infrastructure.

WHAT STEPS ARE TAKEN AGAINST YOUTH?

One of the areas on which we concentrate the most in our election manifesto is our family, women and youth. We worked very hard, what can we do for young people? What are the demands of young people.

We will give youth cards to our youth. We will provide free and discounted access to activities such as cinema and theatre.

Our Honorable President. There will be applications such as 10 GB internet usage rights and tax exemption on mobile phones.

We will create agricultural entrepreneurship zones for our young entrepreneurs. We will determine treasury lands, such as organized industrial zones, and areas suitable for agriculture. We will create the infrastructure of these lands. We are an unemployed agricultural engineer, we will say yes, 10 acres of land, you will not pay any wages. We allocate this land. We say, do you want to grow fruit on the land, whatever you want to do, we will loan the investment. It will be interest-free, with a 2-year grace period and a 5-year maturity.

We will establish a centre in the agricultural entrepreneurship regions, and personnel responsible for human resources, law, informatics and accounting will be employed in this centre. He will be responsible for the accounting and human resources of our young investors. As the state, we will pay the wages of these employees.

We will provide an incredible opportunity to our young people who want to deal with agriculture :

We will implement a program called family protection shield. It will have 5 components. We will apply an income supplementary family support system to families whose income level is below the standard of living. This is family based citizenship pension. A certain standard of living will be established. A support mechanism will be created for families with an income below that standard of living, the amount of which is one thousand liras for one family and 2,000 liras for the other family until they reach the standard of living.

Secondly, our housewives, also create added value, we think that they have the right to retirement. We will pay one-third of the insurance premiums of housewives who want to retire.

In the third application, we will employ at least one person in each family. Let's say the husband and wife are retired teachers, their children have finished university, and they have no job. In case of employment, we will pay the entire insurance premiums.

What is our fourth item? 

Our youngsters are encouraged to marry. We will offer an interest-free loan of 150 thousand TL, a 2-year grace period, and a 48-month term. We will enable our young people to marry more easily.

Fifth, there will be an effective struggle against the negative tendencies that threaten the family and the child. We're starting a family and youngster bank.

 It will be established to finance them. We will also transfer some of the natural gas revenues we find in the Black Sea to finance the family and youth bank."
