Subject distributions have changed in YKS :

There will be no questions from the second-semester topics of the 12th grade in YKS this year. According to experts, this decision will not cause a significant change in the general functioning of the Turkish test. While the subject of mechanics is prominent in Physics, more questions are expected to be asked in Mathematics than in Logarithms, Sequences, and Trigonometry.

Higher Education Institutions Exam ( YKS) this year, candidates are exempt from the second-semester subjects of the 12th grade. It was a question of how this would affect the distribution of questions. According to the course-based evaluations of Ugur Schools and Ugur Kurs Deputy General Manager Adil Kurt and the Heads of the Departments, it will not cause too much shrinkage or change regarding the general functioning of the exam in Turkish.

Since the subjects of Limit and Continuity, Derivative, and Integral in Functions, which were about 10 questions in mathematics in the past years, will not be available this year, more questions are expected to be asked than Logarithm, Sequences, and Trigonometry. While it is recommended that students spend more time on mechanics in Physics, it is thought that there is a high probability of coming up with detailed questions that emphasize detail in History. According to the lectures, the comments are as follows.

Grammar determinant :

Turkish & Turkish Language and Literature: The second-semester subjects of the 12th grade, which were removed from YKS, will not cause much narrowing or change regarding the general functioning of the exam in terms of Turkish and Turkish Language and Literature departments. In the 40 questions in TYT, we expect that the student's ability to "understand what they read, interpret what they read correctly" will be examined as in previous years.

These can also come from the topics Meaning in Word, Meaning in Sentence, and Paragraph. The number of these questions may be around 30. However, the difference between the students will be determined by the questions evaluated within the scope of grammar.

In AYT, 5 or 6 of the 24 questions will be in Turkish (Semantic), and the rest will be within the scope of Turkish Literature in the high school curriculum. No questions will be asked from the units in the second semester of the 12th grade. However, this should not be perceived as no questions from the "Novel" or "Theatre" units. Questions can be asked about the understanding of the novel in the Tanzimat Period or the general characteristics of the novel.

Because these units were also studied in the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. In literature questions, the nature of the information requested from the students is the root of the question; It is important for the artist, whose characteristics are given in the question, to pay attention to the quality of the work.

Mathematics: The exam will be changed in 2023 AYT Mathematics. Most questions come from the topic of Numbers and Problems. The remaining questions of the exam cover the geometry topics Triangles, Quadrilaterals and Special Quadrilaterals, Polygons, and Solids (Right Prisms and Perpendicular Pyramids). Most of the questions arise from the subject of triangles. Since the subjects of Limit and Continuity, Derivative, and Integral in Functions, which were about 10 questions in the past years, will not be this year, more questions are expected from the subjects of Logarithm, Sequences, and Trigonometry.

May be similar to the 2020 :

Physics: Basic concepts are very important in TYT. More permanent learning should be provided by matching the formulas with daily life examples. Students need to be able to read and interpret graphs correctly. It would be beneficial for students to devote more time to mechanics, especially since the 12th-grade second-semester topics were excluded from the scope of the exam. In addition, the right-hand rule should be reviewed on issues such as torque, magnetic effect of current, and magnetic force.

Chemistry: It is expected that the distribution of the questions will be similar to the 2020 YKS, based on basic information, as every year, and measuring the ability to interpret, use formulas, and make transactions.

Biology: The TYT Biology test is expected to consist of easy or medium level questions at the basic knowledge level. Two of the four units in AYT are in the 11th grade and the other two are in the 12th grade. In the past years, the distribution of questions was 11th grade 6/7; Although the 12th grade is in the form of 7/6, the removal of Plant Biology, Living things and Environment from the scope of the exam this year may lead to more comprehensive and more difficult questions than the units of Gene to Protein and Energy Conversions in Living Beings belonging to the first semester.

The importance of 11th grade increased :

Geography: In TYT, the 9th and 10th-grade curriculum will be based. Main questions will be asked from the Natural Systems, Human Systems, Global Environment, and Environmental Society units. It is important to repeat these topics, to practice tests,s and to develop map literacy. It is possible to say that the 11th-grade learning outcomes and subjects are more important for AYT.

Philosophy: In TYT, a question is asked directly questioning the name of the philosophical movement. Recognizing Philosophy, Philosophy of Knowledge, and Philosophy of Being should be well known. While asking questions that require knowing the concepts related to Psychology and Logic courses in AYT; In Sociology, there are paragraph questions that require knowledge-based interpretation.

Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge: In TYT, questions that measure reading, comprehension, and interpretation skills are predominant, but also questions that question knowledge. Especially Allah-Human Relationship, Issues Related to Faith, Faith, Political, and Fiqh Comments in Islamic Thought, According to the Qur'an, Hz. Units such as Muhammad and Islam in Anatolia draw attention to the topics that have been asked intensively in the past years. However, one should be prepared for the questions that may come from each unit.

Note the chronology :

History: In 2020, the history questions were eliminated. Similar questions are likely to come up this year. More questions come from Turkish Revolution History and Kemalism in TYT and AYT. In the last 5 years, it is seen that distinctive questions have been asked from the units of National Struggle, Kemalism, and Turkish Revolution. Must have knowledge of terms and chronology.
