Recently, public workers have stated that they do not wish to work in metropolitan areas due to rising rents and excessive expenses, and civil servants do not favour metropolitan towns. This will be avoided with this practice.

Economist Muhammet Bayram, who made a statement on the subject, used the following statements:  “Mr President, in his last statement, stated that the lowest civil servant salary will be at the level of 22 thousand TL. However, the increase corresponds to an increase of 45percent.

We saw that the partial hikes, together with the previous increases, melted away in the face of inflation. Of course, our government will take action against this. However, as we have said before, extra rent allowances and other allowances should be made especially for civil servants to work in metropolitan cities.

Thus, it is ensured that civil servants are not oppressed by inflation and that they are protected against inflation. While doing this, it is essential to make some interventions in order to balance the rent increases.

'RENTS ON THE BASIS OF PROVINCIAL, AND DISTRICT WILL BE DETERMINED AS FAIR VALUE :

Mr President said that measures will be taken against exorbitant price increases in housing rents. Our expectation is that the rent increase rate of 25 per cent will be maintained and that the rents will be determined as the current value on the basis of provinces and districts.

At this point, our state will put into effect a rental assistance application so that civil servants working in metropolitan cities are not oppressed by inflation and are not faced with exorbitant prices.

With the downward easing of inflation in the upcoming period, the inflation pressure on wages will also decrease, and with the rent assistance, our civil servants will be able to perform their duties in metropolitan cities.

HOW WILL THE RENTAL AID be?

The rent assistance to be made can be arranged by making changes according to the degree and level of the civil servants. This means that a principal and a data preparation control officer will not receive the same rental benefit. However, a rental allowance of at least 20 per cent of their current rent will be available.

HERE IS A SAMPLE PAYMENT PLAN :

When rent determinations are made in each district, an amount such as 10-20 per cent of the rent there can be given to civil servants as rental assistance. To give an example, a government contribution of 2 thousand TL can be considered for a rented flat of 10 thousand TL.”
