Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Fatih Donmez, made investigations at the Filyos Natural Gas Processing Facility in the town of Filyos in the Caycuma district of Zonguldak. Explaining that the number of team reinforcements, tools and equipment has increased in recent years against Turkey's dependence on foreign energy, Minister Donmez underlined that despite nearly nine excavations in the Mediterranean, they could not find concrete discoveries, they had discovered the first well in the Black Sea. Minister Fatih Donmez emphasized that the gas produced by Turkey from its own national resources with a national organization will be pumped into the system and continued as follows:

Despite our great efforts for years, we could not beat it. But in the last over the years, we have invested a lot in this field by both reinforcing our team and increasing the number of tools and equipment. You know, those who seek to find it. Spend as much time as you want without searching. It has no meaning. Many of our oil and natural gas dealers have a saying. The oil is at the drill's tip.

 If you don't search, you don't have access to it if you don't spin the drill. Naturally, luck is a factor as well. I mean, we probably did eight or nine excavations in this Mediterranean. So far, we have not been able to catch any concrete discoveries. Although there are some indications in some areas. But we caught it in the first well when we first landed in the Black Sea. Then, within the scope of field development, we drilled our detection and production wells. 

The operation of ten wells has been largely completed. We have finished our operations on the seafloor. Now the land we are on now these are the final controls and commissioning of the natural gas processing plant. We're hoping to finish these as soon as feasible.

 We will bring this gas to our citizens. All our desire and effort are in this direction. Thus, with the production of this domestic gas, we will have completed the value chain from production to supply to the end consumer. 

We were the country that bought the gas produced by someone else before. Now, from our national resources, we will press the gas produced by our national organization into the system. In the first place, maybe it will not meet all our needs. But it will meet our needs on the order of twenty-five, thirty per cent. We often say. We will be able to meet all of the households in Turkey from this reserve in the Black Sea, from this source."
