Interpreting their rivals in the European final, Eczacibasi talked about the discussion they had with Gabi, the national middle player, before the derby match, and how it turned into a joke. "WE MADE THE IMPOSSIBLE"

-The past few days have been a very special week for Turkish volleyball and even Turkish women's sports. The Turkish final will be played in volleyball, and women in basketball competed in the final at the top of Europe. 

How is the morale at VakifBank right now?

It is really proud that Turkish women play at the top in Europe. I am very happy and honoured to be in such an opportunity.

As for VakifBank, I am very happy. In a match we started as a loser, we started with the goal of clearing it and winning 4-0. I am happy that we did this. We accomplished the impossible. We just believed and showed what we can achieve when we believe. The volleyball we watched was something very different.

'THE THINGS GUIDETTI IS ANGRY ABOUT ARE NOT PERSONAL' :

Guidetti said in an interview he gave 8 years ago, "It is enough for an actor to say I made one mistake to piss me off". Is Guidetti a difficult teacher?

Giovanni has an opinion. We are 14 people in this team, if everyone says I made one mistake, there will be 14 mistakes. That's why, when you think that you made a mistake while you can do everything very well, it actually spreads to the whole team like a virus. This has always been his thought since I came to VakifBank. We grew up with this mentality. That's why I don't see a player who can say that. That's why everyone is focused on doing their best.

He used to write on the walls when we were playing in Selimiye. Even when I was 12, I grew up with those articles. When you look at the mentality, there are 14 people. The mistake you make in a set must be at least 5-6 in order to win. That's why these mistakes should be at the lowest level so that he can win the set. That's why I'm one of those people who can defend it. I don't think anyone at VakifBank will turn around and say such a thing. Everyone is focused on winning. We are not having a problem.

As for Guidetti (Laughing), I don't think anyone with the same mentality should have a problem. When you have the same point of view as him, when you perceive that the things he does and get angry are not personal, you agree that he only shouts and pushes for the team and our development. At some point, you can understand that we meet on the same screen.

This season, Eczacibasi plays volleyball very well and they put on a very good performance. I'm sure it will be a special feeling for me to experience this final with two Turkish teams in the Champions League at the top of Europe, together with my friends from the national team. Of course, I would like to leave as the winner. The pride, honour and things I feel will be more valuable than winning or losing. Because we are now at a point where two women's Turkish volleyball teams are being discussed in the European Championship.

'DO NOT HANG MY FORM, NUMBER 18 HAS MAGIC'

Zehra Gunes's biggest dream in VakifBank? Where do you set the bar high?

Actually, when Gozde sister's jersey was hung here, I thought, 'I want to have my jersey hung too'. Then I thought that when the number 18 was hung there, I realized that it was not what I wanted when I thought about what it means to be my idol and a lot of bright young girls who grew up maybe wearing the number 18 and trying to come to this day with her dream. Indeed 18 has magic. Let others wear. Let others experience this feeling and let it continue. Of course, I would like to be the captain of such a family and end my career as someone who has served for years. We don't know what will happen, time will tell.

-You changed your service style, how is it going? 

Are you used to it now?

I saw that he served effectively in the Fenerbahce match.

I changed my serving style because at some point I felt that something wasn't always sitting right. I am a physically strong person. Even if I don't hit the ball, the ball flies (Laughing) We made such a decision with Guidetti, thinking that I could serve more effectively and harder.

'I WAS STRESSED IN THE SERVICE WHILE THE SITUATION WAS 13-12 AT THE FENERBAHCE MATCH' :

When the situation was 13-12 in the decision set in the Fenerbahce match, it was something that made me nervous that I was on the service. I was laughing when I watched the videos afterwards. That's why I think it's settled now. Gradually it will continue to show more and more effective and be like my normal movements. The more repetitions you do in one move, the better. I think I can put things 2 clicks higher after the gold set.

'I WANT A SETTING VIDEO BEFORE THE MATCHES' :

Mid-player fixed with experience. You have to read the opponent's setter. For example, you have seen 10 thousand passing styles for 1 year, and when you are a new middle player, you have 10 thousand passing memories. You have to check everywhere. When I was a 3rd-year middle player, I saw maybe 100 thousand passing styles and now something automatically settles in his brain. Somewhere you react faster. With other work, it comes back to you more efficiently. I would like a setter video before the matches. When he starts watching the setter before the match, something seems to be coming after the match. I feel better as if the place I stay is left to make physical activity.
